SkiII Privacy Policy
SkiII is a local-first card note app built around the idea of capturing first and organizing later. We value privacy, local ownership, and clear data handling.
中文

English
1. Core principles
SkiII can be used without creating an account.
SkiII does not provide a developer-operated account system and does not intentionally upload your cards, inspirations, images, recordings, link content, or imported files to a developer server.
Content you create and save in SkiII is stored locally on your device by default, including but not limited to:
- inspiration bubbles
- cards and numbered card steps
- images, audio recordings, and link content
- categories, tags, and trash data
- imported, exported, and backup files
The developer cannot directly access, view, copy, or analyze the note content stored locally on your device.
2. Local data storage
SkiII stores its main data locally on your device. You can manage your own data through import, export, and backup features in the app.
If you delete the app, iOS may also delete the app's local data. We recommend using SkiII's export or backup features if you need to keep your data.
3. iCloud sync
SkiII offers optional iCloud sync. When enabled, your cards, inspiration bubbles, categories, and attachments are stored as files in your own Apple account's iCloud Drive container and synced across your devices.
- Synced data lives in your iCloud account, is processed by Apple's iCloud service, and is governed by Apple's privacy policy and iCloud terms.
- No developer server is involved in syncing; the developer cannot access or view your synced content in iCloud.
- You can turn sync off at any time in the app settings; your local data is unaffected.
- Deleting the app does not delete synced data in iCloud; you can review or delete it in iOS Settings under iCloud storage management.
- Synced content counts toward your iCloud storage quota.
4. System permissions
SkiII may request the following system permissions only when you use related features:
- Camera: used for taking photos, text recognition, or adding images to cards.
- Photo Library: used for selecting images or saving exported long images.
- Microphone: used for audio recording. Recordings are stored locally by default.
- Speech Recognition: used to transcribe recordings into text. This may be processed by Apple system services and subject to Apple's privacy policy.
- Location: used only when you choose to record your current location for a card step.
- Notifications: used for local reminders on card steps.
- Face ID / Touch ID: used for the privacy lock feature. Biometric data is handled by iOS; SkiII does not receive or store your face or fingerprint data.
5. Link reading and third-party websites
When you ask SkiII to read a web page, public account article, Xiaohongshu post, Weibo post, X (Twitter) post, Bluesky post, or AI conversation share link, SkiII may request the corresponding website from your device to obtain visible content such as titles, text, images, or public conversation content.
Some sites that require login can be opened inside the app's built-in web page: any credentials you enter there are stored and managed by the iOS web component (WKWebView); SkiII does not read, collect, or upload your account credentials, and extraction only reads content visible on the current page.
These requests are made from your device. The destination website may receive network request information such as IP address, browser environment, or access time. Third-party websites are governed by their own privacy policies.
SkiII does not upload the retrieved link content to a developer server.
6. Share extension
When you share text, images, or links from another app to SkiII, the system passes the content you choose to share to SkiII. SkiII only saves content that you intentionally confirm or import.
7. Purchases and TestFlight
SkiII may use Apple's App Store / StoreKit services to process purchases or one-time unlocks. Payment information, order processing, and refunds are handled by Apple. SkiII does not receive your bank card information or complete payment details.
If you test SkiII through TestFlight, Apple may collect and provide crash logs, diagnostics, installation status, and tester feedback to the developer to improve stability and user experience. This data is handled by Apple's TestFlight service.
8. Feedback and contact
If you contact the developer by email, Xiaohongshu, or another channel, the contact information, feedback, screenshots, or descriptions you provide will be used only to respond to your request, diagnose issues, and improve the product.
The app settings include an "Export diagnostics bundle" feature. It is exported by you and shared only if you choose to. It contains device model, OS version, app version, data-size statistics (counts only, no content), sync toggle state, and crash records reported by iOS. It never includes note text, images, or recordings. SkiII never uploads diagnostics automatically.

9. Children's privacy
SkiII does not intentionally collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us using the information above.
10. Changes to this policy
If SkiII adds features that materially change how data is handled, we will update this Privacy Policy and, when necessary, notify users through the app, website, or App Store page.
